Dutch café brand opens in Copenhagen
August 13th, 2018
The Dutch café brand, Kaldi, is coming to Denmark when it opens its first shop at Zleep Hotels in Copenhagen. The café opens today and will host a Grand Opening on Friday, August 17th at Istedgade 11. Kaldi will replace the hotel’s existing breakfast buffet, offering guests a choice of a selection of quality products from Kaldi.
Only quality coffee at Kaldi
Kaldi is now the shortest path to the perfect cup of coffee in Copenhagen. The cozy surrounding will make it the ideal place to meet up with friends and colleagues, and the location near Copenhagen Central Station makes it the obvious stop for a cup of coffee on the way to work in the morning. The coffee bar also functions as a coffee shop where customers can purchase coffee machines and beans. As a franchise concept, there are high expectations of Kaldi.
“Kaldi wants to introduce Denmark to the intriguing world of specially selected coffees. Experience the latest brewing methods and find the flavor that perfectly fits your taste and personality. That’s exactly what Kaldi serves; coffee with character,” says Hans Tietema, CEO and founder of Kaldi.
New breakfast for hotel guests
Kaldi is opening inside Zleep Hotel Copenhagen City on Vesterbro. The café is located in the hotel’s former breakfast restaurant. The building has been opened towards the street so that the café has its own entrance towards Istedgade; the hotel’s entrance is around the corner on Helgolandsgade. The guests at the hotel will be able to go directly into the café through the lobby; customers of the café will also be able to enter the hotel through the café if they want to get a beer in the lounge instead.
“We have been looking for a café concept that fits Zleep Hotel Copenhagen City for a long time. We found that Kaldi was an exciting and fitting café for the location on Vesterbro in Copenhagen and a trendy addition to our newly renovated hotel. Until now, the hotel has turned its back on Istedgade. Now, with the renovation – where we will transform the space from a breakfast buffet for the hotel guests only, to a modern and trendy coffee shop – we have opened the façade to the local environment,” says Peter Haaber, CEO and founder of Zleep Hotels.
In cooperation with Kaldi, Zleep Hotels’ guests will be able to add a breakfast package. This means that, unlike all the other Zleep Hotels, this hotel will not serve a buffet. The breakfast package costs DKK 99. Guests will have a good selection of quality products to choose between – and a great cup of coffee is of course also included.
