Danish hotel chain opens hotel in attractive, European metropolis

January 20th 2020

At the end of 2019, Zleep Hotels revealed that they in 2021 will open a hotel in the Spanish capital: Madrid. The Danish hotel chain has now commenced the new year with yet another big hotel news. In partnership with the hotel chain’s co-owner, the German hotel operator Deutsche Hospitality, Zleep Hotels now announce that they in 2022, will open their first German Zleep hotel. A hotel located in Germany’s second largest city: Hamburg.

204 rooms in Northern Hamburg

Zleep Hotel Hamburg Altonaer Volkspark will have 204 rooms, a reception with a bar and lounge as well as a large breakfast area. Along with this, there will be good parking opportunities. Being located North of the train station Bahnhof Hamburg-Altona and close to the multi-arena Barclaycard Arena and Volkspark Stadium, the infrastructure is good, both the public transport and the easy connection to the highway network.

“Zleep Hotels has come to be a well-recognized brand in Denmark, and we are well on our way into Sweden, so it is now the perfect timing to try our strength on the German hotel market. We have a dedicated team behind us that, in my eyes, are made for to be in the front lead for a hotel opening in the dynamic Hamburg”, says Peter Haaber, CEO at Zleep Hotels.

Apart from the two arenas, there are many large companies, amongst others Montblanc and DESY Research Center, that have their offices in the area. The Danish company Oticon also has a German department in the Northern part of Hamburg.

Nordic quality in Germany

Zleep Hotels’ German co-owner is also looking forward to the hotel opening in 2022. An opening that gathers all the hotel operator’s five brands in one country:

“Our entire hotel portfolio will be represented in Germany with the opening of Zleep Hotel Hamburg Altonaer Volkspark in 2022. Hereby, our guests will also be able to find Nordic quality and service to a good price when they flick through the pages of our hotels. Hamburg is a very attractive metropolis where both Steigenberger Hotel & Resorts and InterCityHotel are already represented”, says CEO at Deutsche Hospitality Thomas Willms.

The project developer of the new hotel construction is German Farnhornstieg 8 GmbH, which is a collaboration between SORAVIA and Kiskan Kaufmann Architekten: “We are extremely proud to be leading the construction of the first Zleep hotel in Germany”, says Roland Paar, Head of Hotel Investment at SORAVIA.
